CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering is basically everything that is built around us. It is also one of the oldest discipline of engineering. It is safe to say that it started when people first made structures, such as houses, bridges, and more. You may ask, what does a civil engineer do? A civil engineer oversees and verifies the structural integrity of a certain infrastructure, in order to ensure the safety of the people. They apply scientific knowledge to improve infrastructure and common utilities that meet basic human needs, these may range from big bridges, houses, and buildings, to the water faucets that we use. Consulting and contracting engineers are the two types of civil engineers. A consultant works mostly in the office, while a contractor work on the site and implements the designs. Lastly, the typical employers of civil engineers are: Construction companies (both consultants and contractors), Local authorities and government departments, Rail companies, and Utility companies.
